Taxonomic notes

Entoloma bidupense O.V. Morozova & E.S. Popov, in Morozova, Noordeloos, Popov & Alexandrova, Mycol. Progr. 17(3): 390 (2017) [2018]

The species is characterized by the slightly depressed, not infundibuliform, azonate pileus, distinctly squamulose stipe, dark blue color (without violaceous tinge) of the basidiomata, pallid (initially white) lamellae with dark blue serrate lamellae edge, which is of the serrulatum-type with long cheilocystidia, and the habitat in forests.


Why suggested for a Global Red List Assessment?

The species has only been found only once since 2010. Known from a type locality in Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park (Vietnam). Grows in a well-preserved tropical montane evergreen polydominant forest with the participation of Fagaceae and Magnoliaceae (1600 m alt.).
