Assessment Notes

Justification

This species is know from only a single locality, in Brazil, Paraíba, Mamanguape, in the Reserva Biológica de Guaribas, Umapiritanga. Collections of this species at this locality have been made in June 1991 and July 2012. This species is known to grow scattered on sandy soil in Atlantic Forest, surrounded by Coccoloba and other trees. No threats to this species or its habitat appear to be recorded, and this species is thought to exist within the Reserva Biológica de Guaribas, and therefore is not thought to be significantly threatened. Until further research regarding this species’ wild distribution, habitat preferences, and further potential threats is carried out, this species is listed as DD.
