Assessment Notes
Justification
Only known from a collection in 1838, there are some taxonomic doubts around
Cantharellus tenuissimus. With such a sparsity of data, this species is assessed as Data Deficient.
Taxonomic notes
Based on the protologue this species does not appear to be cantharelloid (I. Olariaga Ibarguren pers. comm. 2022). Keißler (1917) proposed this species to be dropped, without giving clear reasoning for this decision.
Geographic range
This species is known only from a collection made in 1838 in ravines near to Mittersill, Austria (Sauter 1841).
Population and Trends
Without further information it is not possible to estimate the population size and trend.
Population Trend: Unknown
Habitat and Ecology
It has been collected from mosses, in particular
Leskea complanata (=
Alleniella complanata; Missouri Botanical Garden 2023), in ravines (Sauter 1841). Collection of fruiting bodies was in November (Sauter 1841).
Threats
More information is required before an assessment of the threats that this species faces can be made.
Conservation Actions
Further research is required to confirm its taxonomic position and to get a clearer idea of its population status and distribution.
Use and Trade
There is no use/trade information.
