Orbispora pernambucana previously assigned as Scutellospora pernambucana is easily recognized by spores with mono-lobed, coiled germination orbs. Spores dark yellow to brown yellow (to yellow brown), 105–150 μm in diameter.
Orbispora pernambucana can be found only in Brazilian Tropical rainforest and Tropical Dry Forest. These forests currently have higher rates of deforestation, especially the Atlantic Forest, which is considered a hotspot, there is also the fact that this taxon has not been well studied yet. We suggest this species to be categorized as insufficient data (DD).
In Brazil, Orbispora pernambucana is found in northeast and southeast regions, in 7 of the 26 states.
