This is an Endemic species form Mexico inhabiting Quercus forest
Quercus forest of Mexico, including Jalisco, Oaxaca, Nayarit, Estado de México and Aguascalientes.
Population Trend:
Epiphyte on Quercus trees and other phorophyte species, but seems to be restricted to Quercus forest.
Mainly threatened by land use changes associated with the mining of different resources and the use of Quercus wood in building and different activities. Also, the development of recreational areas in the Temperate forest of Aguascalientes and Jalisco increased the deforestation and changes in the habitat of Parmotrema acutatum. Records of Nayarit are threatened by roads and railroads.
