Within the country, it is known from the departments of Caldas, Cundinamarca, Risaralda and Caquetá.

Habitat and Ecology

Exclusively epiphyte. The species has a Neotropical distribution, with records from Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, and Costa Rica. In Colombia, it occurs between 2,900 and 4,400 m a.s.l. in Andean and páramo life zones of the Central and Western Andes, where it is generally associated with leafy liverworts.
