Assessment Notes
Justification
Due it its broad distribution, large population size, and inferred stable population trend
Parmotrema perforatum is Least Concern.
Taxonomic notes
Recent molecular phylogenetic analyses, specifically coalescent-based analytical approaches, support the current circumscription of
Parmotrema perforatum (Widhelm
et al. 2016).
Geographic range
Parmotrema perforatum is common in the eastern United States, Canada and Mexico (Lendemer and Knapp 2007, Lendemer 2010, Belliveau and McMullin 2017).
Population and Trends
Parmotrema perforatum is widespread and abundant throughout eastern North America. Due to its large population size throughout much of its range its population trend is inferred to be stable.
Population Trend: Stable
Habitat and Ecology
Parmotrema perforatum occurs on the bark of trees and shrubs in temperate and subtropical forests.
Threats
It is not thought to face any significant threats.
