Justification
Paxillogaster luteus is only known from its description in 1966, from Patagonia. No further records are available and the species is assessed as Data Deficient (DD).
Taxonomic notes
This is the type and only species in the
Paxillogaster genus.
Geographic range
It was described from Río Negro in Patagonia.
Population and Trends
Further records are needed to establish the population size.

Habitat and Ecology
It was found on the ground, under
Nothofagus dombeyi (Index Fungorum Partnership 2023).
