Justification
There is limited information available from the species listing, and there do not appear to be any subsequent records of Cantharellus decipiens since its description. With a lack of occurrence data and information on the habitat and ecology of the species, it is not possible to assess the status of its population or distribution.
It is therefore now assessed as Data Deficient.
Taxonomic notes
Cantharellus decipiens was described in 1968 by Wichanský and listed in the Index of Fungi in 1972.
