Rigidoporus biokoensis resembles R. mariae and R. amazonicus due to the laterally stipitate basidiomata, but the absence of cystidia in R. mariae and the robust basidiomata with larger pores in R. amazonicus distinguish these species from R. biokoensis (Gomes-Silva et al. 2014).
The species is known in 10 countries. The record for France is from La Réunion. In Brazil, it is known in 11 of the 26 states.
There are almost 90 records in 10 countries, about half of them in Brazil.
Population Trend: Uncertain
In Brazil the species is found in Amazonia and Atlantic Forest.
The species is well distributed in Brazil, present in pluvial forest domain. However, the Amazon has currently the highest rates of deforestation in the last decades and the Atlantic Forest is already a hotspot.
Some of the records in Brazil are in unprotected areas.
Other areas should be studied in order to assess the distribution of this species.
