Mushroom, Bracket and PuffballAuricularia fuscosuccinea is characterized by cinnamon basidiomata when dry and medulla distinctly present near to the abhymenium. It is similar to A. fibrillifera and A. thailandica, but differs by slightly thicker basidiomata and hyphae with simple septa.
The species in known in 46 countries. In Brazil, it is known in 19 of the 26 states.

Population Trend: Stable
Tropical and Subtropical species. In Brazil, the species is found in Amazon Forest, Atlantic Forest and Cerrado.
In Brazil, this species is moslty recorded in the Atlantic Forest, a hotspot.
Most records are in protected areas, however few of them in Cerrado, a hotspot
The species has a fragmented distribution and studies about its population distribution are needed.
The species is used as food by traditional Neotropical communities (Zent et al. 2004).
