Justification

P. australiensis is an Australian species known only from its description in 1953. It is unclear whether there have been attempts at finding it since so it is not possible to estimate current population size and the species is assessed as Data Deficient (DD).


Taxonomic notes

Type and only species in the Phaeoaphelaria genus. No molecular data is available.
