Assessment Notes
Justification
Cantharellus radiatus is a European mushroom, but there are some uncertainties regarding the collecting locality for the type specimen. It also appears to only be known from the type specimen, making it difficult to get an accurate idea of the true status of this species. Thus it is assessed as Data Deficient.
Geographic range
There is some uncertainty over the collecting locality of this species, which appears to be known only from the type. Velenovsky (1920) gives the locality as forest in Sliven, in a book on Czech mushrooms. However, Sliven is in Bulgaria; thus creating some confusion.
Population and Trends
There is no quantitative information regarding population size and trends.
Population Trend: Unknown
Habitat and Ecology
This species was collected in forest, amongst mosses by spruce trees (Velenovsky 1920).
Threats
Further information regarding the range of this species is required before an assessment of its threats can be made.
Conservation Actions
Work to find further specimens and to get a clearer idea of the range of the species is necessary.
