Assessment Notes
Justification
Since the description of
Cantharellus minutus there do not appear to be any subsequent records of the species. There is a lack of occurrence data and information on the habitat and ecology of the species, and it is not possible to assess the status of its population or distribution. It is therefore assessed as Data Deficient.
Taxonomic notes
It is not thought to be a
Cantharellus due to the white cap, 2-spored basidia, globose spores and its occurrence on logs (see Velenovský 1920) (I. Olariaga Ibarguren
in litt. 2022).
Geographic range
The type was described from near Myšlín in present-day Czechia (see Velenovský 1920).
Population and Trends
It is only known from the type description.
Population Trend: unknown
Habitat and Ecology
The type specimen was described from rotting tree stumps in shady damp forest (see Velenovský 1920).
Threats
No threats can be accurately recognised due to lack of information about the full distribution of the species. However, World Resources Institute (2021) outlines a 12% decrease in forest cover from 2001-2019 in Czechia, primarily as a result of deforestation.
Conservation Actions
Confirmation is required of taxonomic status, population and distribution data and ecology to better assess the species.
