Assessment Notes
Justification
Since the description of
Cantharellus limbatus there do not appear to be any subsequent records of the species. There is limited information available and with a lack of information on the habitat and ecology of the species, it is not possible to assess the status of its population or distribution. It is therefore assessed as Data Deficient.
Taxonomic notes
It is most probably not a
Cantharellus due to its small size and colouration (I. Olariaga Ibarguren
in litt. 2022).
Geographic range
The exact range of this species is unknown, described from the ground in 'Czechoslovakia' (see Petrak 1950).
Population and Trends
It is only known from the type description.
Population Trend: Unknown
Habitat and Ecology
Cantharellus limbatus is found on the ground (Petrak, 1950) but the type of habitat is uncertain.
Threats
No threats can be documented due to the paucity of information.
Conservation Actions
Confirmation is required of taxonomic status, population and distribution data and ecology to better assess the species.
