A frequent species in the northern hemisphere. Large and stable population.

Geographic range

Wide distribution covering most temperate regions of the northern hemisphere. Particularly abundant i N. America and Western Europe. Reported from several provinces in China. Does not reach the boreal-subalpine/arctic vegetations zones. Introduced in Iceland (in a churchyard). Scattered records from Australia/New Zealand to be verified.
