Sclerodon sajanensis was described for Siberia in 1904 and there have been no more records or documentation on it since. Taxonomic review is also needed so the species is assessed as Data Deficient (DD).
Only remaining species is the Sclerodon genus, as a result of the transfer of another species in this taxa to the genus Gloiodon. Synonym: Hydnum sajanense. (Species Fungorum, 2023).
Recorded in Siberia (Karsten, 1904).
S. sajanensis has only been recorded once in 1902 (Karsten, 1904). Since there is no more available information on this species, it is not possible to estimate population size.
Population Trend: Uncertain
Found growing on wood of leafy trees (Karsten, 1904).
Research into its distribution and ecology is needed to estimate current population size, and taxonomic reviewing is recommended to confirm its placement in the Sclerodon genus.
