Ectomycorrhizal species with a large global population (9500 records on GBIF) anda wide distribution (cosmopolitan) in a wide range of habitat. Tropical-subtropical- temperate. Trend is supposedly stable. LC

Habitat and Ecology

A thermophilous ectomycorrhizal species in tropical-subtropical and temperate deciduous woodland, also in urban parks and gardens. Forms ectomycorrhiza with Quercus spp in temperate regions.


Threats

Modern forestry methods including clear-felling of large areas can be locally detrimental. However,  the large population, the wide distribution in a wide range of habitats indicate that this species has a stable world population.
