Justification

This species is found over a very broad area, and is common with multiple species of Nothofagaceae host trees. It is assessed as Least Concern.

Taxonomic notes

Fistulina endoxantha Speg. 1921 may be a synonynm, although Index Fungorum Partnership (2020) places this as a synonym of F. hepatica.

Geographic range

This species is found over a very broad area in Patagonia and is found in almost all Nothofagaceae forests with mature trees across the range.

Population and Trends

It is abundant with multiple species of Nothofagaceae host trees across the entire range of this family in southern South America.

This species is a wood decay fungus on living trunks, and is common with multiple species of Nothofagaceae host trees.

Threats

Due to the widespread occurrence of this species in a variety of Nothofagaceae-dominated forests, there are currently no major threats that imperil this species.
