Assessment Notes
Justification
Cantharellus pulcrifolius appears to only be known from the type specimen. This was collected from the Moscow Mountains in western Idaho. Without any further information regarding the species' distribution and abundance it is not possible to accurately assess this species, and it could theoretically fall into any category. Therefore, it is assessed as Data Deficient.
Geographic range
This species appears to only be known from the type collection, from the Moscow Mountains of western Idaho, USA (Peck 1902).
Population and Trends
There is no quantitative information regarding population size and trends.
Population Trend: Unknown
Habitat and Ecology
This species was found on decayed wood (Peck 1902). It is assumed, therefore, that the collection was in forest.
Threats
Without clearer information regarding the full distribution of the species it is not possible to accurately assess the species' specific threats. However, recreational use of the area, could be causing some minor impacts to the wider area where the type was collected.
Conservation Actions
Further research is needed on this species, particularly in order to find further specimens; and given the length of time since its description, further taxonomic work may be required.
