Assessment Notes
Justification
This species is known from only one collection made in the woods of Mount Patuha, Indonesia. Information on any further collections of this species from that time is deficient. If any wild subpopulation of this species exist at its known locality now, it may be threatened by volcanic eruption, however further research is needed in order to confirm this claim. Due to a deficiency in information regarding this species' distribution, habitat preferences, and potential threats, this species is listed as Data Deficient until new relevant information arises.
Taxonomic notes
It is probably marasmioid; it does not look like cantharelloid from the original description (see Junghuhnio 1839) (I. Olariaga Ibarguren
in litt. 2022).
Geographic range
This species was originally described as growing in the woods of Mount Patuha, Indonesia (Junghuhnio 1839). Information on any further distributions of this species is lacking.
Population and Trends
The current status of this species in the wild is unknown at this time and is likely to remain as such without further research. Therefore, the current trends of this species remain uncertain.
Population Trend: unknown
Habitat and Ecology
This species is thought to have occurred in the woods of Mount Patuha (Junghuhnio 1839).
Threats
Although this species could exist in the woods covering the Mount Patuha stratovolcano, and could therefore be threatened by volcanic eruption, no details of any significant threats affecting this species are known.
Conservation Actions
The exact locality and information as to whether or not this species exists in the wild are unknown, and so no conservation action can be recommended at this time. Research is required in order to assess whether this species exists within a wild population, which habitat types it exists within, and whether it is threatened, in order to assign an accurate classification to this species.
