Despite the wide distribution of the species in the tropics, it is rare everywhere. Requires protection due to the reduction the forest area with the participation of Fagaceae.
It is widespread in the tropics, but rare everywhere. In Vietnam, it is known from one point in the Chu Yang Sin National Park.
It is known from Indonesia (Boedijn, 1960), China (Wu et al., 2016), Malaysia (Corner, 1972), Vietnam (Pham, 2018).
The species is destributed in 4 countries. In Vietnam is known from one locality. Was not founded last 7 years.
Population Trend: Decreasing
It grows scattered on soil in forests dominated by Fagaceae and in mountain polydominant tropical forests with the participation of Fagaceae, Magnoliaceae, Theaceae, Podocarpaceae.
Requires protection due to the reduction of the forest area, especially with the participation of Fagaceae.
Need the habitat protection (mountain forests dominated by Fagaceae). In Vietnam it is protected in the Chu Yang Sin National Park.
The research on mycorrhizal status of these fungi and its mycorrhizal host is needed.
