Edrudia constipans is known only from the Farallon Islands. The islands are now federally protected by the United States as a National Wildlife Refuge.
Population Trend: Stable
Edrudia constipans grows on vertical faces of maritime rocks. It is often associated with two other dwarf fruticose species, Caloplaca coralloides and Cladidium bolanderi.
The habitat is currently protected as a wildlife refuge.
