Cerioporus cavernulosus (Berk.) Zmitr. [= Megasporoporia cavernulosa (Berk.) Ryvarden] is characterized by the medium sized pores, the cream to ochraceous basidioma and the strongly dextrinoid skeletal hyphae (Ryvarden et al. 1982).

Habitat and Ecology

Pantropical species (the record in Russia may be a misidentification). In Brazil, it is reported in the Atlantic Forest and Amazonia.

The species is well distributed in Brazil, present in the pluvial forest domain. The Amazon has currently the highest rates of deforestation in the last decades and the Atlantic Forest is a hotspot.
