This species occurs in at least nine countries.
Despite the species having 18 occurrences according to GBIF, with the records in Brazil this number tries to be much higher.

Specimens of R. microaggregatum have been found in natural undisturbed areas as well as in disturbed areas.
Although Glomus microaggregatum is present in anthropized environments; high rates of anthropogenic disturbances, such as deforestation, can affect the population of this species.
Soil microorganisms, especially arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, receive little attention in the field of conservation biology, although they play a crucial role in the production of fundamental ecosystem services, such as fertility, soil formation and maintenance, nutrient cycling and plant community dynamics , among others. For the conservation of these fungi, in addition to the soil, it is also necessary to preserve the associated vegetation.
Other areas should be studied to assess the distribution of this species. In addition to a greater understanding of the effects of human disturbances on the species.
