Taxonomic notes
On ITS Diaporthe passifloricola is 98% similar to D. miriciae, but it presents morphological differences in relation to the sizes of beta conidia and conidiophores. (Crous et al., 2016).
Why suggested for a Global Red List Assessment?
It is a rare species, with only three occurrences in the world. More studies need to be done to learn more about its ecology and distribution, so I suggest including it in deficient data.

The species occurs in Malaysia and Brazil as an endophyte.

There are records of Diaporthe passifloricola occurring in the Amazon Forest and the Atlantic Forest.

It is not a common species. The species occur in the Atlantic Forest and the Amazon Forest, two of the largest sources of biodiversity on the planet.
