The ex-type strain, which was isolated from dust collected in Micronesia. In Brazil, the species is found in the Atlantic Forest as endophyte from leaves of Miconia sp. (Melastomataceae).

In Brazil this species is found in protected areas (conservation units). For the conservation of these fungi it is necessary to preserve the associated vegetation, seeking actions for better environmental conditions in these areas.
Other areas should be studied in order to assess the distribution of this species.
