The workshop will take place in Panama City, during the XI Latin American Congress of Mycology-CLAM (XI CLAM: https://congresolatinoamericanodemicologia.com/), during the 5th, 6th and 10th of August. The workshop is organized by groups, organizations and NGOs that work for the conservation of fungi in Latin America. This is the case of MIND.Funga Research Group (MICOLAB/UFSC/Brasil), Fungi Foundation (FFungi, Chile), IUCN Brazil Fungal Specialist Group SSC (BrazFunSG), IUCN Fungi Conservation Committee SSC (FunCC), the IUCN SSC Colombian Fungi Specialist Group (CFSG), the Colombian Association of mycology (ASCOLMIC), the Latin American and Caribbean Fungal Conservation Group, and the Latin American Mycological Association (ALM). The planning and execution is funded by The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund via the "Latin America Workshop: Promoting conservation of the Latin American Funga through specialists' capacitation and extinction risk assessment of threatened fungi" project number 232531493.
