This is the 1st South American fungal red list workshop. It is focused species endemic to southern South America and Quercus dominated forests of Colombia. The workshop aims to build capacity as well as complete assessments of 100 or more species unique to the region. The workshop is supported by the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, IUCN Red List Unit, Funcacion Fungi, and Chicago Botanic Garden. It is being facilitated by Giuliana Furci and Daniela Torres with input from Gregory Mueller and James Westrip and Janet Scott (IUCN Red List Unit). The species assessments will be finalized during the workshop 30 March – 3 April 2020 by contributing mycologists.
