According to Reflora: It occurs in Brazil, only in the state of Minas Gerais.

Habitat and Ecology
Life form: Symbiont Substrate: Living plant - stem cortex. Cora species are identified as model organisms to reconstruct the evolution of lichenized lifestyle in fungi (Dal Forno et al. 2013).

In general, the species occurs in forest areas such as the Atlantic Forest that are threatened by intense human interference such as: deforestation and urbanization.
