Geographic range

This species is noted as having been collected from "Sorrento Swamp", Florida (Burt 1914). It is uncertain whether this would now refer to Seminole Swamp, or other nearby localities such as Wekiwa Springs State Park or Rock Springs Run Wildlife Management Area.

There are no quantitative data regarding the overall population size or trend of this species.

It has been noted as fruiting singularly and having been collected from sandy soil in a swamp (Burt 1914).
