Justification

This species is known to occur within the Pasoh Forest Reserve, Malaysia, but it is currently only known from two specimens. Further information regarding this species' wild distribution and threats is required in order to build an accurate assessment of this species. Therefore, until such information arises from further research, Cantharellus subamethysteus is listed as Data Deficient.

This species has only been recorded from the Pasoh Forest Reserve, Malaysia (Eyssartier et al. 2009).

Population and Trends

This species appears to exist in the wild under protection of the Pasoh Forest Reserve. Therefore, it is likely that this species' population at this site is stable. Further research is required in order to determine the current trends of additional wild subpopulations of this species.

Habitat and Ecology

The two known specimens of this species were found growing on the soil underneath Dipterocarps within the Pasoh Forest Reserve, Malaysia (Eyssartier et al. 2009), a lowland rainforest.

This species is only known to exist within the Pasoh Forest Reserve, and so is unlikely to be threatened at this site. Further information is needed regarding the full distribution of the species before an accurate assessment of the threats it faces can be made.
