Why suggested for a Global Red List Assessment?

We do believe that the Beech Tarcrust, Biscogniauxia nummularia (Bull.) Kuntze is of lest concern (LC) regarding threat of extinction.

The growing effort in the study of fungi, considering their diversity and potential, has historically neglected ascomycetes to the detriment of basidiomycetes, especially in the Tropics. Considering this species on the list is one of the many steps to be taken to properly manage the diversity of our funga.
