Why suggested for a Global Red List Assessment?

The species is endemic to coastal central Chile, highly menaced by the increased change in land use for industrial and recreational use.


Geographic range

Its distribution is localized to central Chile, in the closeness of the river mouth of the Maipo River.

Habitat and Ecology

Prefers coastal rocks in central Chile, both granitic and sandstone, commonly in the spray zone, but up to 100 m a.s.l. It grows on semi-exposed crevices facing towards the ocean, but most commonly completely sun-exposed.
