Assessment Notes
Justification
This is a widespread chanterelle of sub-Saharan Africa. It is not thought to warrant listing as threatened under any criterion. Therefore, it is assessed as Least Concern.
Geographic range
This species is known from across large parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, and subspecies have been described from Madagascar too. Records from miombo are potentially a result of misidentifications (see Buyck
et al. 2012).

There is no quantitative information regarding population size and trends.

Habitat and Ecology
This species has been recorded from forest habitats across its range, and from with
Uapaca bojeri in the Central Highlands of Madagascar (e.g. Buyck
et al. 2015, 2020).

It is not thought to face any major threats.
