Justification
Ganoderma colossus is conspicous wood-inhabiting polypore hardwoods that has a widespread pantropical distribution.
There is no evidence of decline. It is assessed as Least Concern (LC).
Taxonomic notes
Described as Tomophagus, consolidated with Ganoderma, eventually re-segregated as Tomophagus.

Geographic range
Ganoderma colossus has a pantropical overall distribution.
Population and Trends
The population size is likely to be large since this is such a widespread species and more or less stable. Apparently quite rare in many countries and perhaps scarce in any one local, but there is no indication of any decline.

Habitat and Ecology
Fruiting on debris and wood of hardwoods in low elevation semi-dry to moist tropical forests.

There are no major threats to this species.
