Assessment Notes

The content on this page is fetched from The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species: https://www.iucnredlist.org/species/227000167/227535053

This species is known only from its type collection, made in Rio Solimoes, Brazil. If any wild subpopulations remain at this locality, they may be threatened by logging and wood harvesting, however further research is needed to confirm this. This species has been observed growing on bamboo, however further information regarding its habitat preferences is deficient. Due to a lack of information relating to this species' present distribution, it is difficult to assess its current population trends. Without further research, this species is listed as Data Deficient.

Geographic range

The only information regarding this species comes from its type collection, which was made in Rio Solimoes, Brazil, trail number 27 (Berkeley and Cooke 1876).

Population and Trends

Information regarding its distribution, habitat preferences, and potential threats is lacking. Therefore, until new information arises, the current population trends of this species remain uncertain.

Population Trend: unknown

Habitat and Ecology

The type of this species was known to grow on bamboo (Berkeley 1876) however the species is unknown. No further information appears to be available regarding the habitat preferences of this species.

If this species still exists within its known locality, it may be threatened by logging and wood harvesting, however because information regarding the accurate geographical location of this species is deficient, no threats can be reasonably assigned to this species without further research.

Conservation Actions

Information concerning the distribution and habitat preferences of this species, as well as the threats which may be affecting any existing wild subpopulation, is deficient, and so no conservation action can be recommended at this time without further research. Further research into this species’ distribution, habitat preferences (including the species of bamboo it is thought to associate with), and its possible threats is required in order to accurately classify this species.
