The type of this species was originally described in 1908, growing in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. If any wild populations exist here, it is unlikely that this species is under significant threat. No further occurrences appear to be recorded outside of this species’ initial type collection. Because of this, it is currently not possible to determine the population trends of this species. Therefore, this species is listed as DD until further information regarding this species’ wild population distribution, habitat preferences, and potential threats arises.

Chanterelle species

This species was originally described in 1908 as growing in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka (Annals of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya). This species’ type is thought to also exist as specimen number 2896 in Herbarium Peradeniya, although this information is absent outside of this initial description.

The current status of this species’ wild population cannot be determined at this time, and without further research, its current trends remain uncertain.

This species was initially found growing on the bark of living trees in Peradeniya, however the species names of these trees are unknown.

If any wild populations of this species exist at its last known locality, examination of threats to similar species in this area suggests that this species is not significantly threatened.
