Assessment Notes
The content on this page is fetched from The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species:
Justification
This species is known only from its type collection, made in Blumenau, Brazil, however no further information is available regarding this species' distribution. If this species still exists at this locality, it likely threatened by urbanization, however further research is needed to confirm this. No information is available describing this species' habitat preferences, and so it is difficult to assess the current population trend of this species. Until further research yields relevant information to this assessment, this species is listed as Data Deficient.
Taxonomic notes
It is not thought to be a
Cantharellus due to the globose spores 3-3.5 µm in diameter (Hennings 1897) (I. Olariaga Ibarguren
in litt. 2022).
Geographic range
The type specimen of this species was located in Blumenau, Brazil (Hennings 1897). No further specimens appear to be known.
Population and Trends
Data regarding this species' distribution, ecology, and threats are deficient. Therefore, the current status of this species' wild population remains uncertain until further information arises.
Population Trend: unknown
Habitat and Ecology
Information regarding the habitat preferences of this species appears to be deficient.
Threats
Any existing wild population of this species at its known locality is likely to be threatened by urbanization, however because accurate geographical information regarding the distribution of this species is lacking, no threats can be reasonably assigned to this species.
Conservation Actions
At this time, no conservation action can be recommended for this species, due to a deficiency in information regarding its habitat preferences, distribution, and its possible threats. Further research is required regarding this species’ distribution, habitat preferences, and possible threats in order to accurately classify this species.
