This species is known by its pale yellow, greenish yellow to yellow-orange, occasionally smooth, usually verrucose thallus, sessile, disc red-brown, brown-black to black apothecia, margin prominent, yellow-orange to orange, elevated above the disc, ascospores ellipsoidal, transversely septate (Caceres, 2007, Elix. 2009).
